Medu Vada



This is a south Indian Breakfast and snack 

Ingredients :

Urad dal 1cup/150gm
chopped coriander handfull 
ginger 3inch
green chillies 5
cumin seeds 1/2tbsp
curry leaves few
Oil for deep frying

Procedure:

1.Firstly chop coriander,green chillies,ginger and curry leaves into very small pieces 
2.Soak urad dal for 2 hours and blend into paste in wet grinder/you can even do this step in Mixer Grinder.but the result will be good when you do with wet grinder 
3.Add little salt and all the ingredients listed above 
4.mix well with your hand for about 5 to 7 min
5.place kadai and heat oil 
6.Now take a cup full of fresh water and an empty milk packet/You can even use banana leaf
7.so our urad dal batter is ready
8.place your urad dal batter,cup of water and milk packet in your kitchen counter 
9.dip your fingers in water bowl..take a spoonful of batter and place on the packet
10.when the oil is hot take this vada in oil and cook this in low flame
11.turn over and cook
13.Remove from oil and place on a kitchen towel 
14.Tada Medu vada is ready to serve 
15.Coconut Chutney/ Sambar goes well with medu vada/ you can even have with Chicken curry/Gravy
