Roasted Channa Dal Chutney

Roasted channa dal Chutney 


This goes great idli,dosa,pesarattu and upma

Ingredients 

roasted channa dal 1cup
green chillies 12
cumin seeds 1tbsp
Tamarind 1inch
salt to taste

For Tempering

Mustard seeds 1/4tbsp
cumin seeds 1/4tbsp
Urad dal 1/4tbsp
Curry leaves few
Red chillies 2

Procedure:

1.Heat oil in pan
2.when oil is hot add cumin seeds and saute for 2 min
3.Add slited green chillies and fry for 3min..be careful here 
4.Add roasted channa dal and saute for 2min
5.switch off the stove and let the mixture cool down
6.now add the roasted dal mixture and salt , tamarind 
7.Blend this into smooth paste by adding some water 
8 . now for tempering heat 2tbsp oil add mustard seeds followed by cumin seeds,urad dal,red chillies and curry leaves 
9.Fry for 2 min and add the tadka to the Chutney
10. Tada Chutney is ready to serve

Bombay Chutney

I donno where the name came from ..but I used to call it as Bombay chutney as my mumma used to tell like this..Try this you gonna Love it

Ingredients

Onion 1
Green chillies 4
Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
Gram flour 3tbsp
tomato 1
Coriander 2tbsp
Turmeric 1tbsp
Mustard seeds 1tbsp
Urad dal 1/2tbsp
curry leaves 2tbsp

Procedure:

1. Heat a pan and add oil Add mustard seeds followed by Urad dal and curry leaves
2. saute and add onions and green chilies..saute well for 3 min
3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes
4. Add chopped tomato and mix
5. Add 1 and half cups of water
6. Add 1tbsp turmeric powder,salt ..mix well and close the lid.
7.Let the water boil
8.meanwhile prepare the gram flour batter
9. add gram flour in bowl and add 4 to 5 tbsp water and make a smooth batter
10.there should be no lumps in the batter..
11.When the water came to the boil add this gram flour batter to the rolling water and mix well
12. You should mix continuously to avoid forming lumps
13. Garnish with coriander and close the lid for 2 min and switch off the stove
14. Tada Bombay chutney is ready to serve ..Have with Idli and Dosa 


                                     





























Coconut Coriander Chutney

This chutney goes really well with Idli,Dosa,Upma.. and the specialty is no need to on the stove for this chutney

Ingredients:

Coconut - 1/2 cup
Coriander 1cup
Roasted chana dal 1/4cup
Garlic pods 4
Green chillies 6

For tempering:

Mustard seeds 1tbsp
Cumin seeds 1tbsp
Urad dal 1/2tbsp
Red chillies 2
Curry leaves 3strands

Procedure:

1. In a blender add roasted chana dal followed by green chillies , coconut pieces,garlic pods,coriander
2. Blend with some water into smooth paste 
3. For tempering Add little oil in a wok and add mustard seeds followed by Cumin seeds,urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves
4. add the hot tempering to grinded paste (Step 3 is totally optional if you wanna skip oil please skip         3 and 4 steps)
5. Tada Coconut coriander chutney is ready to serve
